OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The provincial metropolis received another spell of moderate rain on Tuesday, which turned the weather pleasant. The increased suffocation after the rain was, however, its ultimate result. According to a report of local metrological office the City received 25 millimetre (mm) rain in Airport area while 09 mm in City areas. Further Metrological Office predicted another spell of monsoon rains in upper parts of the country from Wednesday that may produce scattered rains/thundershower with isolated heavy fall over there during next 4-5 days. Latter on this weather system is likely to spread to other parts of the country. A Wasa spokesman claimed that sanitation teams have succeeded to pump out rainwater from major roads of the city within given target of maximum period of two to three hours but failed to cope with the situation occurred in low-lying areas after heavy rain spell in such localities. While the low lying areas of the City were presenting picture of ponds after the rain as compare to the situation of major roads of the City and posh residential vicinities where the teams of Wasa were being witnessed while using their best abilities and were performing efficiently in order avoid any complaint of stagnation of rainwater.
