Ten persons were killed and 12 others injured in different road accidents here on Saturday.

According to details, in Bahawalpur at least six persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries when a trailer hit a bus carrying a wedding procession here on Saturday.

According to eye-witnesses, the bus was parked in front of the office of Motorway Police to lodge a jewellery theft complaint when a rashly-driven trailer hit it, killing six persons on the spot. Ten other passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital.

According to the police sources, the bus carrying a wedding procession, was on the way to Khanpur from Multan when met the accident.

In Sargodha, a woman along with her son killed her husband over domestic disputes here on Saturday.

Police said that the woman, a resident of village 42-Southern had differences with her husband over domestic disputes. She along with her son killed him and got lodged an FIR, claiming that her husband was killed by robbers on resistance during a robbery.

However, the police on suspicion arrested both mother and son who confessed to the crime during the interrogation. The police registered a case against the accused.

In another incident, a motorcyclist identified as Habib died when he rammed into a tree due to speeding here. Another elderly person was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle when he was crossing road. While on Sargodha-Jhang Road, a recklessly-driven vehicle hit a motorcyclist namely Mohammad Saeed. He breathed his last on the way to hospital.

Student electrocuted: A student was electrocuted and eight others sustained critical shocks when a bus they were travelling in hit live electric wires near AC Morr on Luddan Road here on Friday.

As per reports, an overloaded passenger bus was on the way to Adda Kachi Pakki from Burewala. The passengers included some students who were sitting atop the bus. On the way the bus stopped at a petrol pump for re-fuelling but unfortunately a bicycle atop the bus hit live electricity wires. Resultantly a Class 9th student Ali Raza, son of Yar Muhammad, a resident of resident of Adda Kachi Pakki sustained severe electric shocks and died instantly while eight other students including Yasir Ali, Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Hadaf, Muhammad Shaban, Muhammad Adnan and Muhammad Arslan also got shocks and were rushed to THQ Hospital Burewala. The Model Town Police arrested bus driver Ajmal and Petrol Pump owner Muhammad Hussain and registered a case against them.

In Sialkot, an unidentified person drowned in Marala-Ravi-Link (MR Link) while taking a bath near Qila Kalarwala-Pasrur tehsil here. Rescuers of Rescue 1122 fished out the dead body from the canal and handed over it to local police.
