The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will offer free education to 2.2 million out of school children under the Punjab Government’s Education Sector roadmap till 2019 while another 1.5 million children are already being given free education under public-private partnership programme.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Managing Director of PEF Salman Anwar Malik during a function here on Saturday. He further disclosed that all kids would be enrolled till 2016 and no children would remain out of school because of lack of facilities.

He said that the PEF had launched 9th phase of Foundation Assisted School (FAS) programme which would facilitate a large number of students in South Punjab. He said that majority of students getting free education under FAS programme belonged to South Punjab. He stressed upon the parents to bring their kids to the school.

WAPDA TOWN PHASE-111: Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) Chief Executive Officer Engr Muzaffar Ali Abbasi has said that the land acquisition process for Wapda Town Phase-111 will be accomplished soon. Addressing a meeting of WAPDA Town management committee here on Saturday, he added that the committee received over 20 thousand applications for the phase-111 which reflected public’s trust on WAPDA Town. He declared that the down payment for WAPDA employees for the Phase-111 would be reduced to five per cent from 10 while the number of instalments would be increased up to 24 from 16. He said that all Mepco workers, who applied, were being given plots in Phase-111 as letters had been issued to them.
