HAFIZABAD-The main accused in the bogus allotment case of shops in new grain market Hafizabad - former secretary Market Committee Shahbaz Cheema - has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Establishment.

His bail was cancelled by Special Judge Anti-Corruption Mushtaq Elahi. The ACE has already arrested Sub-inspector of Market Committee Rana Shahid Parvez and others in this connection.

According to ACE, trader Sheikh Mustafa Ishaq had submitted a complaint to the ACE that former secretary MC Shahbaz Cheema, Sub-inspector Rana Shahid Parvez, Waheed Ahmad and Safdar in collusion with former administrator Shoaib Tarar had allotted 45 shops by preparing fictitious food grains licences to their favourite persons.

Thereupon, a probe was held, the allegations proved to be true and a case against 45 shopkeepers and four officials of the Market Committee was registered. Meanwhile, Sheikh Mustafa Ishaq and affected traders called upon the ACE and other authorities concerned to unearth bungling made by the Market Committee officials in the allotment process.
