In occupied Kashmir, Indian army and paramilitary forces have launched massive search operations in Kupwara district. According to Kashmir Media Service, the searches have been going on for the past four days, in Harfuda, Magam, Satkuj and other areas close to the Line of Control. The regular Indian Army, including Rashtriya Rifles battalions, was on second line of the military operations, while the specialized troopers have been brought specially for the operation. "After ground searches from morning to evening, the troopers are being assisted by helicopters in evening," reports the Srinagar based daily 'Greater Kashmir' quoting reliable sources. A top local police official of the district told media men, that they had not been informed about the operation. "We have received information about it through locals," he added. Meanwhile, Indian police personnel started surprise checking of vehicles near Barzulla, Airport Road and other adjoining areas in Srinagar. People were brought down from vehicles and lined up for intensive frisking, causing lot of inconvenience to them.
