LAHORE - The Naulakha police arrested suspended DSP Imran Babar Jamil on Tuesday and shifted him to some undisclosed location for interrogation. The family of the suspended DSP alleged that DSP Naulakha Police Station Mehr Mumtaz invited Imran at a local hotel in Shadman area for dialogues and reconciliation but later arrested him. They also alleged that the said official tortured Imran. When contacted on Imran Babars mobilephone, a person namely Junaid attended the call and maintained that he was Imrans personal secretary. He confirmed his arrest and informed that Imran had been shifted to some unidentified place by the police. It may be mentioned that Imran Babar had blamed some high-ranking police officers including SP Umer Virk and SP City Zeshan Asghar, who approached him to get some arrested dacoits released. On refusal they threatened Babar of severe consequences. Later, both the police officers complained to the police high-ups. Imran has been suspended on the reports of Additional IG Humyun Raza Shafi and DIG Mubashar, who were deputed as inquiry officers in his case. DIG Mubashar declared him a mentally sick person. Imran approached the court against his suspension orders for which he was being punished, alleged his relatives. According to sources in police, four cases under various sections have been registered against him in two police stations of the City. Mochi Gate police registered cases under Section 155/C, 409, 468,471 and 420 while Islampura police registered cases under Sections 170 and 171 against suspended DSP Imran Babar. BODY FOUND The dead body of a youth found at a textile factory at Pindi Stop Peco Road in Green Town Police limits on Tuesday. According to police, on Tuesday morning some employees of the factory informed the police about the dead body laying in the factory on which the police reached the spot and took the body in their custody. Later, the deceased identified as Zeshan, 18, employee of the said factory. However, mother of deceased, Shagufta in her first information report alleged that some employees of the factory including Naveed, Imran, Waseem, Arfaat, Ghazanfar and the owners of the factory were involved in the murder of Zeshan. Later, the relatives of the deceased staged a protest outside of the police station and demanded the police to arrest the killers of Zeshan. YOUTH KILLED A man killed his brother-in-law on some domestic issue in Dubanpura Sabzazaar police jurisdiction on Tuesday. Police said on Tuesday, both used to quarrle over domestic issues. and on Tuesday both met in a street and scuffled with each other after exchange of harsh words Riaz hit Arshad with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him. Later, Riaz surrendered himself before police with weapon and police registered a case against him on the complaint of Aslam, brother of deceased. Meanwhile, the traders of Sabzi Mandi of Kot Lakhpat allegedly killed an alleged unidentified thief on Tuesday in Kot Lakhpat police precincts. Police said that Tuesday morning, a trader Ibrahim informed the police that he witnessed a dead body of an unidentified person in his shop No 95 on which police reached the spot and took the dead body in their custody and started investigation of the case. During investigation, Ibrahim confessed that last night he saw an unidentified man was stealing buffalo of Malik Asif, another trader of Sabzi Mandi and he, Malik Asif and Sajjad caught the thief red handed and started beating him and as a result of torture, he died. However, police registered case against Ibrahim, Malik Asif and Sajjad and arrested Ibrahim and Sajjad while Malik Asif still was at large.
