Ballots are being counted as the voting process ended here Wednesday in Gujrat and D.I. Khan for the by-polls in PP-111 and PF-65 constituencies, report said. A neck-and-neck competition is expected between the candidates of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Pakistan Muslim League (Q) in Gujrat where Imran Zafar of PML-N and ex-provincial minister and PML-Q leader Mian Imran Masood have aggressively run their election campaigns in constituency. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islams (JUI-F) Maulana Lutuf-ur-Rehman is testing his fate against Pakistan Peoples Partys candidate Samiullah Ali Zai and six other contestants in PF-65 of Dera Ismail Khan. The constituency is believed to be a stronghold of JUI-F as it serves as the hometown of party chief Maulana Fazl-ur Rehman.
