National flag hoisting ceremonies, seminars, rallies and exhibitions were held across Punjab to celebrate Pakistan Day and reaffirmed the pledge to spare no effort and focus all energies for the prosperity, integrity and development of the motherland.

According to details, in Bahawalpur, Pakistan Day was celebrated with the renewal of pledge to make country strong, progressive and prosperous side by side a real democratic and welfare State to justify the struggle and sacrifices of forefathers and Pakistan Movement heroes for this separate land for Muslims to make it a citadel of Islam.

A number of social, cultural, literary, political and religious organizations of the city besides the government departments and educational institutes including Islamia University, Bahawalpur conducted different programmes to mark the day.

The national flag was hoisted at all official and important buildings of the city while the local newspapers published special editions to highlight the importance of the Pakistan Day and Pakistan Movement while Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur aired special programmes significant to the occasion.

An exhibition of equipment and ammunition of Pak Army was also arranged at Bahawalpur Garrison. Maj-Gen Sadiq Ali inaugurated the exhibition and visit stalls set up by different formations of Pak Army. He met with the Jawans and Officers of Pak Army. Exhibition was visited by the notables of city as well as people from different walks of life.

In Sargodha, Pakistan Day was observed with great fervour and enthusiasm and a national flag hoisting ceremony was held outside Jinnah Hall. DCO Tariq Mehmood, DPO Raja Basharat Mehmood, MNA Dr Zulfiqar Bhatti and a large number of people from all walks of life participated in the ceremony. At Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen office, District General Secretary Syed Zafar Abbas Bukhari was the chief guest of flag hoisting ceremony while Maulana Sarfraz Hussain Hussaini, Zafar Abbas Chisti, Syed Tasawar Sherazi, Syed Aftab Kazmi, Saqib Raza, Wahdat Scouts leader Tanseer Haider, Zaheer Abbas and others were also present on the occasion.

In Sangla Hill, Pakistan Day was celebrated with determination to strive harder for the prosperity, peace and stability of the country.

Major ceremony of the day in Nankana sahib district was held at Government College for Women Sangla Hill where Federal Minister for Kashmir affairs and Gilgat Baltistan Ch Barjees Tahir was the chief guest. Mrs Talat Yasmeen, Principal Government College for women, MPA Tariq Mehmood Bajwa and a large number of PML-N workers attended the ceremony.

In Hafizabad, Pakistan Day was observed with national fervour. A seminar was held in Jinnah Hall in which local officers, teachers, students called upon the people belonging to different segment of society to reaffirm their pledge to play their vital role for the stability and integrity of the country and national cohesion. A rally was also taken out in the city which was led by Principal Govt College Prof Muhammad Ayub Khan Tahir, Women College Principal Zahida Nasreen, DO Secondary Mian Imtiaz ul Haq and teachers and students of different schools and colleges.

A special function was held in the Police Lines Hafizabad where ‘Fateh’ was observed for the 14 cops which embraced martyrdom while performing their duties in the district during the past year. DPO Zubair Dareshik paid glowing tributes to the Shaheeds and distributed gifts to the dependents of the Shaheed cops.

In Mailsi, a programme was held at Jinnah Hall organised by The PML-N Youth Wing to celebrate March 23. PML-N Youth Wing Divisional President Raza Khanwas the chief guest on the occasion wherein a speeches were delivered on topic “My dreams of Pakistan.” Tousif Ahmad Khan Yousafzai, Raza Khan, Muhammad Hussain Bangash, Aslam Khan Yosafzai, Rao Muhammad Sharif Tahir, Rao Riaz Ahmad, PML-N Youth Wing City President Ch Ghayoor Aslam, District President Manzoor Barkat and others paid glowing tribute to heroes of Pakistan Movement. They pledged fulfil the dream of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam. President Mailsi Press Club Abdul Razaq Qureshi, Khurshid Baig, Shaikh Meboob Elahi and hundreds of people attended the function.

In Mandi Bahauddin, people across the district celebrated Pakistan Day with renewal of pledge to reform the country into a modern Islamic welfare state as per the spirit of Pakistan resolution adopted by Muslim League meeting at Lahore under the leadership of Quad I Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Special prayers were held at mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country.

The TMA arranged a joint function at TMA Hall. Ex-servicemen, government officials, media persons, women and local leaders from PMLN and PPP participated in the function while DOC Afzal Warriach was the chief guest.

In Gujranwala, Pakistan Day was celebrated with traditional fervour as national flags hoisting ceremonies were held across the district.

In Gujranwala Cantt, a dignified ceremony was held regarding 23rd March and an exhibition was also arranged under auspices of Pak Army where Corps Commander Lt-Gen Salim Nawaz was the chief guest. Similarly at District Council Hall a big ceremony was held in which parliamentarians and officers of district administration participated. On the occasion, speakers pledged that they would strive hard to steer Pakistan out of all prevailing crises.
