On the order of District and Sessions Judge, the Moongi Babgla Police recovered 11 members of bonded family from a landlord custody and produced them in the court.

As per detail, on the direction of Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad, District and Sessions Judge Ch Muhammad Mushtaq ordered the police to recover 11 members of a Christian family from the custody of Munawar Hussain, a resident of Chak-179/GB here on Thursday. Complainant Naveed Maseeh had sent an application to Supreme Court CJ in which he stated that he and his family members had been kept in custody by a landlord with the excuse that they had to pay his advance money. He added that they were being used as bonded labour.

All the recovered labourers were produced in the district and sessions court who released them after recording their statements.

Meanwhile Awami Workers Party Secretary Tariq Mahmood, Human Rights Commission coordinator Ijaz Iqbal termed the court action as fulfilment of justice with poor.
