After an extremely bad performance by the Awami National Party (ANP) in KPK, the Pashtuns have once again shown their loyalty to Pakistan and their province by electing the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to govern the province for the next five years. This ensures better conditions for the Pashtuns in the future, a new KPK; most importantly, it proves that people of KPK believe in performance rather than linguistic and ethnic considerations.

It’s an eye opener for the rest of the country, which is unfortunately still trapped in the chains of language, caste, race and overwhelming emotions, in the case of the people of rural Sindh, who despite the poor performance of PPP, voted for them. Although it’s a good opportunity for the people of KPK to improve their conditions under Imran Khan’s leadership, the leader himself should be conscious of the fact that the people of KPK, by nature, only give one chance to their representatives and if they do not perform they wipe them out in the next elections.
