According to sources, 20 26 MVA-FT transformer worth Rs250 million was approved for district Swat after the floods severely damaged its grid station in 2010.

The transformer was the urgent need of the locals and they were desperately waiting for the beneficial move to get a sigh of relief to overcome loadshedding and low voltage issue in the area.

This long awaited relief was, however, transferred to DI Khan after JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman approached the Wapda Chief Executive, depriving people of Swat.

The sources informed that people of swat valley pay their electric bill on regular basis and its revenue is up to Rs170 million.

During ANP’s government, major packages approved for the area were distributed in Mardan and charsadda districts.

People of Swat termed the Wapda Chief Executive’s favour to JI Chief as clear evidence of misuse of authority and demanded the interim government and CJP to take stern action in this regard.

They also warned that if transformer wasn’t brought back they will go on strike.
