Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif met US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson and Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Sharat Sabharwal in Raiwind on Friday.

During the meeting, Olson said the US wanted to strengthen its ties with Pakistan and was willing to help Pakistan overcome the energy crisis. Various other issues were also discussed in the meeting.

Sabharwal and German Ambassador to Pakistan Cyrill Jean Nunn also met with Sharif separately and discussed issues of mutual interests.

During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif and Sharat Sabharwal exchanged views on ways to boost bilateral ties. He conveyed the good wishes of Indian Prime Minister and hoped for improvement of bilateral relations during the tenure of Mian Nawaz Sharif.

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan wants to resolve all the issues at dialogue table on equal basis.

German Ambassador congratulated Nawaz Sharif on the victory of his party and said his country was looking to work with his government to enable Pakistan overcome energy and other critical issues. He praised Pakistan’s role in the war on terror.

The meetings come after Sharif’s party secured the majority of National Assembly seats in the May 11 general elections.

In the wake of the party’s success, Sharif is expected to take oath as the country’s prime minister in the first week of June.
