LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board has made Abdul Raqeeb as manager of the team for the dual tours of the UAE and New Zealand after Yawar Saeed refused to take back his resignation. Aaqib Javed has returned to the team management as assistant coach after the PCB postponed the bowlers coaching programme due to the non-availability of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis while Sarfraz Nawaz questioned the authority of National Cricket Academy director Haroon Rasheed. However, associate manager Shafqat Rana has been replaced by assistant manager Asad Mustafa. PCB chairman Ijaz Butt tried his best to convince Yawar to continue for the UAE series but the Pakistans long serving manager refused to continue at his post for the forthcoming tours to Abu Dhabi, Dubai. Ijaz Butt had a long meeting with Yawar at Gaddafi Stadium but reports coming said that Yawar had expressed his inability to continue as manager for the forthcoming tours. Yawar had announced before the Champions Trophy he would step down as manager after the tournament. The team management for Pakistan Vs New Zealand series 2009 for ODIs,T20s in UAE and Test matches in New Zealand, will be: Abdul Raqeeb (Manager), Intikhab Alam (Coach), Aaqib Javed (Assistant Coach), David Dwyer (Trainer), Faisal Hayat (Physio), Asad Mustafa (Assistant Manager), Talha Ijaz (Analyst) and Mohammad Akhtar (Masseur).
