CHINIOT –The PPP-led government had taken revolutionary steps for women’s empowerment and protection of their rights, said MPA Syed Hassan Murtaza.

He said that the govt believed in the protection of women’s rights and their empowerment and had taken steps for providing equal opportunity to women in all the walks of life according to the manifesto of the party. He said that the NGOs were playing a vital role to educate people about their rights.  He was addressing the participants of a ceremony held after a training of students at a workshop on ‘Human Right Education’ organised by Tangh Wasaib Organisation in collaboration with the Chiniot Press Club.

District Press Club Vice President Aurang Zeb Malik chaired the ceremony while MPA Syed Hassan Murtaza was the chief guest on the occasion.

Through BISP, he claimed, hundreds of thousands women were made financially self-sufficient. Addressing the participants, Programme Coordinator Ms Kiran Kamran said that Human Rights Education Programme was launched in three districts Chiniot, Khushab and Sargodha to make school staff and children.  She said that TWO was also working for gender peace and interfaith harmony in various districts of the Punjab and KPK. On the occasion, Aurang Zeb Malik said that human rights violations had been reported in schools in different parts of the country.
