KARACHI - The first death anniversary of Madar-e-Jamhooriat Begum Nusrat Bhutto was observed on Tuesday.Workers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) of Ghinwa Bhutto separately arranged prayer meetings and Quran Khawanis to pray for the departed soul of Begum Nusrat Bhutto.The leaders of the ruling PPP including Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and provincial ministers paid the visit to the mausoleums of Bhutto family and offered prayer and laid flowers at their graves. According to the statements, the ruling PPP as well as PPP-SB paid rich tributes to Madar-e-Jamhoriat Begum Nusrat Bhutto for her struggles and sacrifices rendered for establishing and upholding democracy in the country and vowed to follow in her footsteps. Meanwhile, MQM delegation also attended the anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bux. The delegation was led by member of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Mr Ashfaq Mangi. Members of the delegation offered Fateha for the late chairperson of the PPP and laid floral wreath on her grave on the behalf of their leader Altaf Hussain, They also laid floral wreaths on the graves of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto.The MQM delegation was welcomed at Garhi Khuda Bux Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other leaders of the PPP. Other members of the MQM delegation included provincial minister Abdul Haseeb and office bearers of Sindh Tanzeemi Committee and Larkana and Sukkur Zones of the party.
