LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has set up a committee for preparing recommendations for imparting quality education to the kids.

The committee, headed by Provincial Minister for Education and Chief Secretary, has been directed to furnish the recommendation with seven days.

Addressing a high level meeting yesterday, the chief minister said the training of teachers on modern lines is of vital importance for promotion of quality education. A comprehensive training programme for teachers should be evolved for harmonizing them with the modern needs, he ordered.

He was presiding over a meeting yesterday which considered various proposals for promotion of quality education in schools and provision of modern training to the teachers.

The CM directed that efforts should be made on emergent basis for promoting quality education and teachers’ training. He said that children of the common people have as much right over quality education as those of the elite and Punjab government will ensure this right.

PU organises training workshops: Punjab University Career Counseling & Placement Centre has organized training workshops on “International trends and challenges for students in future, CV writing and Job applications” at Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAGS) and Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG).

Chairman CCPC Dr Abdul Qayyum Choudhary, Director IAGS Dr Saleem Haider, Chairperson MMG Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri and a large number of students were present on the occasion. In this address Dr Abdul Qayyum Choudhary shed light on the topic and said that due to education friendly policies of Dr Mujahid Kamran, we have been able to organize such academic activities. Career Development Officer Navid Ahmad Khan trained students about CV writing. Later, Dr Saleem Haider and Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri lauded the efforts of CCPC for arranging fruitful workshops for students.
