LAHORE - Lahore-born Muhammad Ahmed, who used to play for KRL in Premier Soccer League, stole the limelight as Gulshan Ravi enter semi-finals of the First Ramazanul Mubarak PEL Soccer Cup Flood-lit Football Tournament 2008 at PEL Goround, Ferozpur road. They brushed aside Mujahid FC 5-4 on penalties after 3-3 draw in 6th quarter-final. Gulshan Ravi build up 3-0 lead at interval with Ahmed scoring in the 9th minute and created others for Adeem Shahzad (8th min) and Yasir (29th min). Mujahid Club reduced all three goals in second session through Taimur 57th min, Asif 60th min and Ali 62th min. During tie-breaker Ravi earned 5-4 win with goals by Farrukh, Jalal, Ahmed, Javed and Adeem while Saleem, Aslam, Taimur, Ali replied for losers. Later on in seventh quarter-final, Death Throw outkicked Nadeem FC  4-3 after 3-3 draw. The winners slammed through Rehan Azhar (19th, 23 min) and Ghufran (68th min) while Khurram Saleem struck twice in the 32nd and 62nd minute with Abdul Wasim being other scorer in 54th minute. International keeper Asad Tariq saved four penalties as Death Throw clinched tie-break 4-3 in one-by-one system sudden death. The referees were Rauf Bari, Muhammad Shams, Waheed Murad while Muhammad Babar acted as Match Commissioner. Wednesday (24 September) Fixture First Semi-final (Gulshan Ravi v Death Throw: 9.30 PM).
