LAHORE - Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that people have once again expressed complete confidence in the policies of PML-N in the by-elections.

Talking to a delegation of PML-N leaders and workers at Rawalpindi on Saturday, he said PML-N would come up to the expectations of the masses and serve them with missionary zeal, setting new records of development and prosperity during the next five years. The delegation congratulated the chief minister on the success of the party candidates in the by-elections.

Shahbaz Sharif said the practical steps taken during last five years had proved that serving the masses was the objective of his politics. He reiterated that no effort would be spared to solve problems of the people who gave a historic mandate to PML-N in the general elections and again expressed confidence in the by-elections. He said this public confidence had exposed those who claimed popularity, but had no record of public service.

The chief minister said the future of the country would be made bright by overcoming the energy crisis and solving other problems under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the coming years. He said there were no two opinions that the country was passing through a critical phase and facing internal and external problems. On one side, the country was facing terrorism and extremism while, on the other side, the energy crisis had badly damaged the economy.

Shahbaz Sharif said that due to loadshedding, industry, agriculture and other sectors had slowed down. “PML-N, immediately after coming into power, paid attention to these important problems and evolved a roadmap for their solution,” he said and added a collective strategy with the national approach was being adopted to cope with terrorism and extremism as peace was essential for local and foreign investment.

The chief minister said no stone would be left unturned to meet the serious challenges facing the country and the entire nation would have to unite on one platform with the spirit of achieving this great objective. He asserted PML-N would take every possible step to ensure rule of law, constitution and justice in the society.
