LAHORE - Muggy weather continued on Saturday while some parts of the country received scattered showers. Rain occurred at isolated places of Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Hazara and Kashmir.

Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 35 and 27 Celsius respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 78 per cent. According to experts, seasonal low lies over North Baluchistan and shallow westerly waves are present over upper parts of the country. The meteorological department has forecast hot and humid weather for most parts of the country during the next couple of days. However, rain is expected at isolated places of Lahore, Gujranwala and Malakand. On Saturday, Lahore received 15 mm rain, Okara 11 mm, Gujranwala 7 mm, Malamjaba 4 mm, Murree 2 mm and Kalam 1 mm.

Anti-dengue drive

Lahore General Hospital administration has cancelled the weekly offs of all the staff including administrative doctors in connection with anti dengue measures and cleanliness drive at the institution. All the administrative doctors and heads of various departments would monitor the process of cleanliness in their respective departments.

Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof Anjum Habib Vohra has directed Medical Superintendent LGH to ensure drainage of rainy water and disposal of solid waste from the hospital. He said that hygienic environment would be provided to patients by using all possible resources. He also directed the contractors of under construction blocks in the hospital premises to ensure drainage of water on daily basis.
