PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Saturday said that role of the womenfolk is very important for the development of any country.

Speaking at a meeting, he said women constitute 52 per cent of Pakistan's population and there was a dire need for providing equal opportunities to them so that they could play their role in developing the country. On the occasion, former MPA Nasreen Khattak announced to join QWP.

She reposed confidence in the leadership of QWP and vowed to work for strengthening the party at the grassroots level. QWP General Secretary and MPA Anesa Zeb Tahirkheli, MPA Meraj Humayun and a large number of ladies were also present in the meeting.

Sikandar asked the participants of the meeting to strengthen the party and establish organisations in all the districts. He urged the women workers to go door-to-door and take the party's message to every household.
