LAHORE  -  Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Planning & Development Department on Friday where he presided over a high-level meeting about financial matters. He was given the briefing about four months’ development budget and ongoing annual development programme in the province.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that agenda of his leader Imran Khan is only public service adding, “We all have to fulfill this mission jointly. You have to work as my team. We all shall serve the masses as a team and shall move forward collectively. Decisions will be taken with consultations. He said that rearrangements are usually made whenever a new government is installed. I assure you that we won’t make reshuffling. My support is with you and I will be continuing standing behind you.” He announced that he “will also make functional the office of Chief Minister at Civil Secretariat. As I have come to the P&D department, I shall also visit every department the same way and shall develop necessary liaison with every department.” He also announced visiting districts and divisional headquarters. He said that we jointly have to improve the quality of life of the poor people according to the vision of prime minister Imran Khan. The south Punjab will have to be developed in the real sense. I have the realization of poor conditions of the people living there. Every moment is precious, he added. He reiterated that good governance will be promoted while corruption will not be tolerated at any cost and the corrupt elements will have no role in the new Pakistan. We have to transform the dream of a new Pakistan of Imran Khan into reality and the people will be served with passion and commitment. Let’s help complete the journey of change as we have to bring a real change in the province. This change will be materialized when we will move along, he concluded. Earlier, Chairman P&D apprised the chief minister about budgetary details and targets of annual development program. The chief secretary, provincial secretaries and high officials attended the meeting.


Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar issued necessary directions to the authorities concerned to ensure best cleanliness in the province in the post Eid time and asked the authorities concerned to make cleanliness arrangements better than the previous years.

The chief minister directed the provincial administration, solid waste management companies and line departments that best cleanliness arrangements should be ensured and added that he wants Punjab neat and clean. He had said that concerned officers and staff should remain in the field and disposal of animals’ waste should be actively continued. He said the operation of disposal of animals waste in Lahore and other cities should be completed soon.

Meanwhile, chief minister had also directed assembly members Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed and Nazir Chohan to visit the city along with DC Lahore and monitor the water disposal arrangements. The assembly members should also monitor the arrangements made for disposal of animals’ waste in different parts of the city so that the citizens may not face any difficulty, concluded the chief minister.


Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that foolproof security arrangements were made to protect the life and property of the people on eid ul adha. I extend my gratitude to police and other agencies for making best security arrangements for eid congregations. Nothing is important than the security of the citizens and it is satisfying that concerned departments had performed their duties diligently, concluded the chief minister.
