Three senators on Saturday joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), increasing the party’s chances to elect its own president.

The lawmakers from the Upper House Senator Haji Fida, Senator Aurangzeb Khan and Senator Sajjad made the announcement during their meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.

Defense Minister and former KP chief minister Pervez Khattak was also present in the meeting. Imran Khan welcomed the senator and termed their joining a great achievement for PTI before the presidential election.

According to details, after forming the government in the centre and two provinces, winning the presidential election is another great challenge for PTI. If PTI failed to elect a pro-PTI president, it would be tough for it to run the government smoothly and approving legislations would also become difficult.
