HAFIZABAD – As many as 123 postgraduate women have been selected for the Internship Progamme of the Punjab Chief Minister here.

Addressing the women, MNA Saira Afzal Tarar said educated women are an asset of the nation. The government would soon materialise the dream of socio-economic development of women in the society, she added.

She said that they had been selected purely on merit and would be paid Rs10,000 per month. She asked them to perform their duties honestly and commitment for national reconstruction. Later, EDO (Education) Dr Iqbal Naeem said that out of 500 online applications received for the internship, 123 women had been selected while solar penals would be distributed to the students under the Ujala Programme.

ROOF CAVES IN: Three persons including a woman and two minors were seriously injured when the roof of a house caved in in Parr Lakhan village last night due to heavy rain.  Inayat along with his wife Rehmat, son Irfan and Tanveer were asleep when the roof caved.
