LAHORE – The MQM leaders claimed that Altaf Hussain was the only leader who raised voice for the rights of the women and violence against them.

MQM leaders Raza Haroon and Nasreen Jalil made this claim while addressing a women workers meeting at MQM Punjab House on Sunday.

The other MQM leaders present on this occasion include, Saif Yar Khan, Adil Siddiqui, Shaheen Anwar Gilani and Waseem Khokhar.

The MQM leaders alleged the Punjab government backing the extremists by taking no action against them and the same creating havoc in other provinces.

They demanded of the election commission to take prompt action over the degree issue of opposition leader, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan in a bid to establish its confidence over the entire political parties. They maintained that leaders of other political parties sent their close relatives to the assemblies on women reserve seats, while the MQM got elected working class women who had no blood ties with party leadership.

They stressed upon the women to stand shoulder to shoulder with the party men to play their due role against the loadshedding, price-hike and corruption. They said the MQM would field candidates in the general elections from each constituency of Punjab, while the party doesn’t need any fee but the applicant should possess a good character in his/her constituency.
