ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) senior vice president Air Vice Marshall Syed Razi Nawab was named vice president of Asian Squash Federation (ASF) here on Sunday.

Sunday became very significant for Pakistan as first Pakistan won the Asian Junior Squash title by beating arch-rivals India in the final and then Nawab added another feather to decorated crown of Pakistan squash by becoming the ASF vice president despite all the odds were against him.

An inside source from Korea confirmed this scribe that the chances of Nawab becoming the vice president were very bleak as India and others had already decided to whom they were going to support. But to the great credit of Nawab, he worked really hard and won the support of key members, thus landing the very high profile seat just under the noses of India.
