ISLAMABAD – Sajjad Ahmed won the first Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Open Ski Championship which concluded at PAF Ski resort, Naltar on Sunday.

Minister for Education Gilgit/Baltistan Ali Madad Sher was the chief guest on the occasion. In all, 119 athletes from across the country participated in the event which was added in the ski calendar for the first time.

Speaking at the occasion, the chief guest commended the efforts of Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP) for arranging this exciting sport for young enthusiasts. “Demonstrating such an excellent standard of skiing in the country without appropriate ski infrastructure and facilities shows that there is no dearth of talent in Pakistan.”

The athletes were provided one-week training and acclimatization camp facility prior to the competitions at the scenic Valley of Naltar. Senior technical delegate along with a team of technical delegates of SFP conducted the competitions.
