islamabad - The Islamabad High Court will today (Monday) resume the hearing of customs authorities’ petition challenging a trial court’s decision of handing over passport to model Ayyan Ali.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah will conduct the hearing of the petition moved by the customs authorities.

Previously, the bench had adjourned the hearing in this matter, as legal counsels from both the sides did not appear before the court. The customs authorities had filed this petition through Farhat Nawaz Lodhi Advocate seeking to revoke the trial court’s November 25 decision regarding handing over passport to Ayyan Ali.

The authorities in its petition has adopted that the name of Ayyan is already paced on exist control list (ECL). Her passport is a proof in currency smuggling case and there were apprehensions that she could flee the country through illegal means.

They had confiscated the passport of Ayyan after arresting her at Benazir Bhutto International Airport on March 14, 2015.
