The Punjab government has achieved yet another milestone by completing “revolutionary project of computerisation of land record” in the district.

The project will help the people get rid of patwari culture and the Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS) will bring about transparency by ending corruption.

Additional District Collector (ADCG) Ashfaq Ahmad Ch stated during a meeting with a delegation of Senior Working Journalist Forum (SWJF) who called on him here the other day. The ADCG said that the LRMIS would eliminate the practice of illegal registration of land, corruption and fraud. He claimed that the process of computerisation of land record in Khanewal district is in progress and almost 60 percent work in all the four tehsils of the district has been completed.

Ashfaq Ch said that an effective monitoring system has been evolved with the help of modern technology under LRMIS. He informed that the Punjab government is following the policy of promotion of transparency in every sector and computerisation of the land record is part of this policy. He appealed to the landlords and other members of civil society to cooperate with the government to eliminate corruption. Ashfaq Ch urged the citizens to come forward and play their due role in the campaign to make the campaign successful.

SWJF delegation was led by its chairman Anjum Bashir and comprised of Malik Muhammad Aslam, Qulzam Bashir, Syed Asim Shah, Ziaur Rehman and former Abdul Hakim press club president Amjad Ali Amjad.
