Almost all the road, rail and air traffic remained suspended due to dense fog which engulfed the entire Sialkot region also on Sunday.

The mercury dropped down to four degree Celsius on Sunday, while the minim temperature in Sialkot region was recorded 2 degree Celsius during the night. The dense fog blanketed all the urban and rural parts in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur, especially the far-off bordering villages. The chilly winds coming from the icy Alps of neighbouring Occupied Jammu and Kashmir continuously blew making the weather child here. According to the Sialkot Met office, the weather will persist for the next couple of days in Sialkot region.

On the other side, the Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) has directed exporters to send their export consignments at the SDPT at least four days before their cut-off time.

The SDPT management said that early arrival of export cargo consignments would be helpful in timely dispatch of these shipments to the foreign destinations. A circular issued by SDPT management revealed that the dense foggy and misty weather with zero visibility was causing inordinate delay in sending consignments to Karachi Dry Port.
