RAWALPINDI - Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has confiscated 11 truckload goods from different markets in its grand operation against encroachments to make RCB areas encroachment-free.

The anti-encroachment operation on the special instruction of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Saima Shah was launched on January 22 (Friday) which has further been intensified in RCB areas aimed at providing relief to the citizens visiting the markets.

According to RCB spokesman, the grand clean-up operation against encroachments was underway in RCB areas while now it has further been accelerated. He said encroachments have been removed from different markets of Saddar Bazaar. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Cantonment Executive Officer Rana Rameez Shafqat.

Anti-encroachment teams also visited Gawalmandi, Chungi Number 22, Tench Bhatta, Bakra Mandi, Haider Road, Mall Road, Saadi Road, Kashmir Road, Police Station Road, Railway Station Road, Adam Gee Road, Bank Road and confiscated goods of encroachers. He said, RCB markets are regularly being visited and the staff concerned conducting raids at main markets.

The vendors who are found selling their products while displaying on footpaths and different roads are imposed fines with warnings, he added. Encroachments both temporary and permanent are also being removed. He said, strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against the rules violators and no relaxation would be given to anyone.
