GUJRANWALA - The second poverty survey of the country’s history will be held in 2017 and elected local bodies representatives will be offered an important role to achieve objectives of the survey.

BISP Chairperson Marvi Memon stated while addressing the MNAs, MPAs, and newly-elected local bodies representatives of Gujranwala at DCO office here on Sunday.

The BISP chief said that impartial recommendations of the LB representatives would help the government make this programme more effective and welfare-oriented.

MNAs - Chaudhry Mehmood Bashir Virk, Shazia Fareed, MPAs - Abdul Rauf Mughal, Toufiq Ahmed Butt, Imran Khalid Butt, Nawaz Chohan, BISP director general Sara, divisional director Nadeem Alam Butt and regional director Aurat foundation Abdul Shakoor Mirza were present on the occasion.

Marvi Memon said that the government is determined to eliminate poverty from the country and the BISP is playing an important role towards that end. She said the programme is bringing about positive change in the country by providing financial help to the poor women.
