Rwalpindi-Police have arrested the second of two alleged rapists of a 14-year-old boy in Bank Colony, informed sources on Wednesday.

The accused identified as Chaudhry Arbab, a resident of Hayyal Sharif, was produced before court of an area magistrate. The police obtained three days physical remand for further investigation.

Earlier, a man identified as Raja Adil was arrested by police during a raid at his house located near Punjab Employees Housing Society on Adiala Road. The accused was shifted to police station and put behind bars. Sources said that police produced the accused Chaudhry Arbab before court of Area Magistrate/Civil Judge Qasim Rasool and pleaded to award seven days to grill the accused for sexually assaulting the boy. The judge turned down the request made by police and granted physical remand of the accused only for three days, sources said.

SHO denied involvement of any other person in the crime. The DNA test of both the victim and first rapist has been carried out, whereas the second rapist would be taken to Lahore for the purpose.

Meanwhile, a police party raided the residence of a local PTI leader Chaudhry Nazir, who is said to be the uncle of two rapists. However, the police could not find the accused hiding inside the leader’s house. Chaudhry Nazir accused the police team headed by SI Khalil Bhatti of carrying out the raid without search warrants.

He also accused the women police officers of harassing his family, opening fire at his nephew and violating the chastity of clad and boundary wall. “I will file a writ petition with LHC Rawalpindi Bench today (Thursday) against the illegal police raid,” he said. SHO PS Malik Rafaqat, nonetheless, rejected allegations of opening fire at the family of the PTI leader. He said that Chaudhry Nazir is innocent and has nothing to do with the Bank Colony child abuse case.
