A five-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) Wednesday adjourned the hearing of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) Implementation case till August 8.

Pleading before the bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Attorney General of Pakistan Irfan Qadir pleaded the court to give more time to the government for writing the letter to the Swiss authorities.

Granting his plea, the court gave the time to the federal government till August 8 to write the letter to Swiss authorities to re-open the graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

The five-member bench comprises Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed.

Pleading before the court, Attorney General Qadir said, “I say with all respect that the judiciary is meddling in the affairs of the executive.”
