LAHORE – A citizen has appealed to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and Lahore City Traffic Officer (CTO) to initiate legal action against two wardens who misbehaved with and threatened him of dire consequences over a petty dispute on Tuesday.

According to details, two wardens, including Warden-cum-Lifter Adnan and Constable Muhammad Liaqat, allegedly misbehaved with a trader named Saeed Ahmed at Main Samanabad Road.

“They lifted my car from a nearby shopping mall. On my return, I told them that they should have informed me when I was parking my car there,” Ahmed said. On this, he added, the wardens started abusing him and even went on to mishandle him.

“I had already paid the fine. The way they treated me was unjustified and beyond the limits because they also threatened me of dire consequences,” Ahmed maintained. He also appealed to the Lahore CCPO and Lahore CTO to take action against the accused officers.

DACOIT KILLED: A dacoit was killed while a student sustained multiple bullet injuries when four dacoits broke into a house at Awan Town in Nisthar Colony in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The family of Nadeem Ahmed was preparing for Sehri when armed men entered the house and held the family hostage at gunpoint. Nadeem’s son Nabeel said the dacoits indulged in a collecting spree, but when one of them slapped his father he pounced on him and overpowered him.

“On this, the other dacoits sprayed straight bullets on us, which resulted in the death of their accomplice while I was wounded partially,” Nabeel told the police. Police have identified the deceased dacoit as Akmal of Youhanabad, Kahna.

Later, the injured youth Nabeel was admitted to a local hospital where his condition was stated to be stable until filing of this report. The body has been removed to the City morgue for autopsy and further investigation is underway.

THREE NABBED: Shalimar police have booked and arrested three culprits involved in selling haram meat and recovered several dead hens from their possession. During preliminary interrogation, the accused named Shamshad, Sajid and Akbar said they had been operating in the area since long. Further investigation is underway.

TORTURE: A 22-year-old alleged robber was badly tortured by Township police on Tuesday to force him to confess. As per details, a suspect named Azmat Ali of Township was held in connection with a robbery bid but police thrashed him badly. Later, he was shifted to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be critical.

BURQA-CLAD DACOIT HELD: A dacoit clad in Burqa was arrested by residents who tamed and handed him over to the police seconds after he along with a female accomplice entered the home in the Faisal Town police area late on Tuesday.

“The female accomplice has also been arrested,” an on duty police officer said. According to him, a dacoit in his late 50s, later identified as Shaukat Ali, wearing an old fashioned burqa along with his female accomplice entered a house to rob the family.

He further said the dacoit was held by the family members but his accomplice, yet to be identified, managed to escape from the crime scene. Meanwhile, a good number of police contingents reached the spot and recovered him from the mob, which was badly thrashing him. During a search operation, police also apprehended the female dacoit. The criminal duo was handed over to the police concerned for further interrogation.
