Islamabad - The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday provided a draft list of polling stations to the returning officers for checking and necessary changes.

The ROs will publish preliminary lists of polling stations. Voters can file objections or submit proposals to the district returning officers (DROs) with regard to their polling stations. After disposal of objections, the DROs would publish the final list of the polling stations.

Meanwhile, the ECP has drawn the attention of political parties to comply with the provisions of the Election Act 2017 to submit applications for allotment of election symbols by Friday (today).

The applications are required to be sent to the ECP secretary.

Meanwhile, the ECP has uploaded on its website the draft polling scheme regarding the general election 2018.

Earlier, the ECP released final electoral rolls for the next general election. According to the rolls, the total number of registered voters was over 105 million.

In Punjab, the number of total voters is 60,672,868; in Sindh 22,391,244; in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 15,316,299; in Balochistan 4,299,494; in FATA 2,510,154 and in the Islamabad Capital Territory the number of voters is 765,348 voters.
