LAHORE - The three-day Punjab Chief Ministers speech, debate, and essay-writing competitions at divisional level between the Inter- and Degree-students, both boys and girls, commenced on Thursday. The Urdu debate of boys was inaugurated at Govt M.A.O College's auditorium. Principal Prof Dr Farhan Ebadat Yar Khan inaugurated the function. As many as 24 students, who won at the district level from four districts of the Lahore division, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana, participated in the debate. The topic at the Inter-level was Hai Tulkh Bahut Bunda-e-Mazdoor Ke Auqaat, and at the Degree-level it was Kaya Mard ko Aurat Per Fauqiat Hasil Hai? The students showed in-depth knowledge in their speeches, which impressed the audience. The teachers, including Prof Mehmoodul Hassan Shakir, Prof Ahmad Zaeed and Prof Awais Ayub, from Murray College and Allama Iqbal College (both in Sialkot), were the judges, while Assistant Director of Education Anwar Bashir Malik supervised the debate. Muhammad Ahmad, from Punjab College, Haider Hayat, from the Govt College University, and Abdullah, from Garrison College, in Nankana Sahib, were declared as the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd, respectively. At the Degree-level, Adnan Farooq of Govt College University, Hafiz Muhammad Faisal of Punjab College, and Hafiz Ali Mahmood of Govt College University obtained the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd positions, respectively. English debate among the boys will be held today (Friday).
