ABU DHABI Although it was decided before the start of the fifth and final ODI against Sri Lanka to continue with the winning combination and retain the same squad which had won the fourth one-dayer but later it was decided to give chance to youngsters as they need some kind of match practice to be able to utilise them in the upcoming Bangladesh tour. These views were expressed by Pakistan cricket team Associate Manager Col (R) Naushad Ali in an exclusive interview with TheNation on Thursday. He said that after injuries to Abdul Razzaq and Junaid Khan, the team had to change the game plan as both of them were in our plans for the series against Bangladesh and we specially miss the services of Junaid who had bowled exceptionally well against Sri Lanka in the three Test matches series and the bowling department in Junaids absence now heavily rely on Umar Gul and he has to shoulder the lime share in bowling department. Replying to a question about possible replacements Naushad said: There are a few names under consideration like Asad Ali, left arm fast bowler M Khalil who had the experience of playing Test cricket before and the dashing left arm fast bowler Saddaf Hussain who is the leading wicket taker in domestic cricket for the last two seasons. He further said: It is very important for us to carry on playing matches regularly and after the Bangladesh series the England home series will follow. We have a busy calendar and boys are enjoying their cricket and are improving after each and every game. When this correspondent asked about when will the long depriving fans of Pakistan be able to watch their heroes play at home, Naushad replied that PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf is working actively on this particular issue and due to his active involvement and interest the Bangladesh Board has agreed in principal to send a team to Pakistan. We also welcome the statement of Zaka in which he had offered India that Pakistan team will tour India and are ready to play in every given venue over there and we fully support this statement. It is very important for us to put all the controversies behind us and focus on performing on the playing fields as entire team cant be blamed for individuals mistakes and acts if somebody has done something wrong or applied unfair means he will face the consequences, Naushad concluded.
