ABU DHABI Pakistan and Sri Lanka are all set to lock horns for the one last time during the current series in the one off Twenty20 international today (Friday). After winning five match One Day International series against Sri Lanka by a thumping margin of 4-1, Pakistan team took a day off on Thursday and decided to take complete rest instead of going out for usual practice session. Injuries to star players like Abdul Razzaq and Junaid Khan were also a reason for not going out for practice as the team management doesnt want to take any risk as they cant afford more injuries to the squad. Like Pakistan, Sri Lankans also decided to cancel their scheduled practice session and opted for taking a much needed break. In an informal talk with the media, Pakistan team captain Misbahul Haq said that although Pakistan have won the Test and ODI series comprehensively but they will not relax and will go all out for a kill to end on a high and that will be a great moral booster for the teambefore the start of series against Bangladesh. When asked by this scribe about the poor selection of shot which led to his dismissal in the last match, Misbah admitted his mistake with open heart and said he was fully aware about his responsibilities and accepted that his shot selection at that time was not the right one but he promised that he will try to control his emotions in future and will try his best not to repeat same mistake again. About the team, he said there is a lot of competition in the playing XI and everyone has to perform to stand any chance of selection in the side. It is true Shoaib Malik is not performing but he is a match winner and will soon get back in to his own and started to produce the goods for himself and for the team too. There is still a lot of cricket left in Malik and as a captain it is my responsibility to give him all support and stand by his side as I am dead sure he will bounce back in style Misbah further said that team will miss Razzaq and Junaid in the match but the team still have enough fire power and the available squad is more than capable of beating any top side of the world. Sri Lankan captain Tikaratne Dilsahn said that the bowling of his side is quite good but it is our batting which is letting us down. He said that he was concerned with his batting form and there was extra pressure of captaincy too. When this correspondent asked him the entire Sri Lankan batting revolves around Kumar Sangakkara, Dilshan said: it is true Sangakkara is the main strength of our batting but Mahela Jayawardene got back in to form in the 4th ODI at Sharjah and it was unfortunate he got some injury but he will be back soon.
