The lawyers from 21 districts will stage a sit-in to get their demand for the establishment of Lahore High Court Benches in five divisions outside Supreme Court of Pakistan on November 26.

Sargodha District Bar Association President Syed Tayyab Sherazi revealed this while addressing a press conference here the other day. Sherazi asserted that the sit-in would continue till the acceptance of their demands. The DBA president said that according the Inter Divisional Committee thousands of lawyers would participate in the sit-in. He regretted that the Punjab government had sabotaged peaceful struggle of the lawyers’ fraternity by making “what he called” false promise regarding the establishment of High Court Bench in five divisions - Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Dera Ghazi Khan. He claimed that the lawyers would lock up local courts on November 25 as a precursor to the big sit-in. He informed that a huge caravan of lawyers from district courts would set off for Islamabad on the night between Monday and Tuesday. He urged the government to take stock of the situation and announce setting up of LHC divisional benches to facilitate the public and provide them with justice at grass-root level.
