Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the government has been making strenuous efforts to ensure smooth supply of gas to the domestic consumers in winter season and all-out resources are being utilised to tackle the crippling energy crisis by providing maximum relief to the masses. He said that the USAID and World Bank were helping Pakistani government to curb the menace.

Kh Asif stated this while talking to the party workers and local elected representatives here at his residence in Sialkot Cantt on Sunday. MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah, MPAs - Ch Muhammad Ikram, Arshad Javaid Warraich and PML-N Sialkot District President Idrees Ahmed Bajwa were also present on the occasion. The Federal Minister said that the PML-N government was pursuing the revolutionary policy of ‘Trade not Aid’, saying that this policy would be helpful in making Pakistan self-reliant and stable economically by depending upon the available national resources, besides, creating maximum opportunities for economic and industrial development.

Kh Asif asserted that early establishment of durable peace and weeding out of terrorism and militancy was the top priority as the government committed to transforming the country into a stable and welfare state.

He said that the PML-N was striving for the promotion and strengthening of true democracy and democratic norms and values in the country. He said that now the PML-N was the guardian of democracy in the country and was striving for the rights of the masses. The party will never allow anyone to derail the democracy and will strengthen institutions to address public issues. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was striving to make Pakistan a strong economical power after making it a nuclear power. He said that let the government fulfil its economic policies which would help eliminate poverty and problems being confronted by the masses. Kh Asif vowed that the PML-N would continue serving the masses without any indiscrimination.
