MANDI BAHAUDDIN: General (r) Hameed Gul, the president of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, would address members of District Bar Association during the first week of December.

DBA Secretary Shaukat Ali Gondal Advocate told the media that the bar in a general body meeting had decided through a unanimously passed resolution to invite Gen (r) Hameed Gul to address the bar on the prevailing situation in the country.

He said that the retired general was a patriotic soldier and dynamic personality. “He (Hameed) is renowned analyst on military affairs and has deep study of national and international affairs. His address to the bar members would increase their knowledge and make them better aware of the national and international affairs,” he added. Referring to his role during the movement for restoration of judiciary, he said the retired general with his ex-servicemen took part in the movement and contributed a lot to succeed it. He said on this account he was sent to jail but despite that he continued to support the cause of lawyers.–Reporter
