CHARSADDA - Awami National Party (ANP)’s former provincial president and widow of late Pakhtun nationalist leader Wali Khan, Begum Nasim Wali Khan, Sunday formally announced her return in active politics and said that there would be no place for people like Asfandyar Wali, Azam Hoti and Haider Hoti in her new journey.

She made this announcement during a press conference here at Wali Bagh in presence of two former ANP lawmakers Abdur Rehman Khan Kafor Dheri and Atif Khan and hundreds of other supporters.

Begum Wali Khan said that she was feeling much proud by seeing party activists in large number that day, adding that she could not bear more defamation of the political party of Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan. And that is why she has decided joining back the politics, she added.

Asking support from party workers, she said that there would be no place for Asfandyar Wali, Azam Hoti and Ameer Haider Hoti in her party as instead of strengthening they weakened the party. To draw future line of action, she said that she had called a ‘Loya Jirga’ of the party which would be held within next two months to take certain important decisions. She asked youth to help her with her mission.

She further said that ANP had become a ‘wall of sand’ which needed a push to get demolished. She added that defeat in general elections defamed the party. She vowed to reorganise the party on modern lines, adding that although she was old enough, however, her feelings were still young.

Earlier Begum Wali was warmly received by the party workers when she came to address the press conference at Wali Bagh. She said that she had come to active politic to save the party and philosophy of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan. She alleged that the ANP government during its tenure failed to deliver.

Criticising the leadership of ANP, particularly Azam Hoti, Ameer Haider Hoti and Asfandyar, she alleged that they had disappointed the party workers and asked them to be silent as it would further damage the party. She called upon ANP members to come forward and support her.

It is worth mentioning here that Begum Wali has been former provincial president and parliamentary leader of Awami National Party (ANP) in KPK Assembly and the first woman elected from a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province general seat in 1977.
