KARACHI -  As many as 98 students of M.Phil and post-graduate programs of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari (BBSUL) were given laptops under the Prime Minister Scheme here on Thursday.

Addressing the occasion, Vice Chancellor BBSUL,  Prof. Dr. Akhter Baloch called upon the students to equip themselves with modern technologies and play their role in development of the country.

He said that the government is striving for betterment and welfare of the youth and now IT IS their responsibility to pay attention towards their education.

The laptops were distributed among the students of the M Phil and post-graduate programs in second phase of the PM's Laptop Scheme.

Focal Person of the Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme, Abdul Samad, Acting Registrar of the Varsity, Fareeda Lodhi and others were also present.

Railway union hails renaming

of auditorium

The Railways Workers Union has lauded the National Institute of Labour Administration and Training (NILAT)

for naming a newly constructed auditorium after Mairaj Muhammad Khan.

In a statement, Central President of Railway Workers Union, Manzoor Razi and senior labour leaders, Islam Hussain, Syed Rais Iqbal, M Akram Khan, Ashraf Chaudhry, Nadim Sibtain and Javed Latif said that Mairaj Muhammad Khan rendered excellent services for the cause of labour. 

They added that his services for downtrodden would always be remembered.
