SIALKOT-Even after 21 years of its up-gradation, the Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Badiana is still deprived of required classrooms and teachers.

Due to the government apathy, hundreds of students of dozens of villages are perturbed and forced to join private educational institutions to get higher education after travelling long in Sialkot, Pasrur and Gujranwala.

Then Punjab Minister for Anti Corruption Punjab Ghulam Abbas had got upgraded Govt Girls High School Badiana to the higher secondary level in 1995 for providing better higher education at local level. Now, 21 years have passed but neither the additional building, classrooms have yet been constructed nor have the teachers on 16 sanctioned seats yet been appointed for the higher secondary classes.

The old building and classrooms are not sufficient for the growing number of students of matriculation classes, as the students of 6th to 10th classes are forced to get education while sitting on the ground due to shortage of classrooms.

The situation has left a big question mark on the performance of education and buildings departments. The school management said that the situation was repeatedly brought to the high-ups of Education Department but to no avail.

Local notables Khawaja Saeed Butt, Javaid Iqbal Ghuman, Haji Muhammad Sadique Butt, Mushtaq Gorsi, Baba Manzur Butt, Haji Muhammad Riaz, Pir Wasif Zahur Badianavi, Tahir Butt and Azeem Ahmed Qadari expressed grave concern over situation. They urged Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Asif and DCO Dr Asif Tufail to look into the matter.
