LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought reply from Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) on a writ petition challenging government’s failure to control recent outbreak of measles.

Earlier, the petitioner's counsel appeared before the court and argued that the court had formed a committee to probe the reasons behind the measles outbreak and children deaths owing to it. However, government had showed no responsibility into the matter and not submit the reports of the inquiry committee, the lawyer submitted, adding the authorities had also not taken any action against concerning officers over their negligence in controlling the outbreak.

He prayed the court to take notice of the government's lethargy towards the matter and summon inquiry reports prepared by the committee.

The court, after hearing the arguments, directed the government to submit the reports by next date of hearing.
