LAKKI MARWAT - Local administration launched anti-encroachment drive in Lakki city on Monday and removed illegal infrastructures from parts of the urban locality.

The operation was launched on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Syed Zafar Ali Shah while Assistant Commissioner Qayyum Nawaz, Chief Municipal Officer Asmatullah Khan and Tehsildar Sanaullah Khan supervised the activity.

The employees of municipal committee and revenue department with the help of heavy machinery razed shops and business places built on government land in Michen locality.

The busy Begukhel road was also cleared of all sorts of encroachments. An official of local administration said that removal of encroachments would ease traffic on roads linking rural localities and connecting the district with neighbouring Mianwali district of Punjab.

He said that the administration would continue action against encroachments in urban and rural localities of the district in future.

He further said that those involved in erecting illegal constructions on government land would face stern action.
