Lahore- The Lahore High Court (LHC) declared non-maintainable a petition seeking implementation of a court’s orders regarding registration of FIR against 21 people, including PM Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif over Lahore’s Model Town incident.

In its ruling the LHC said that the application is non-maintainable and could not be taken up on the grounds that the applicant is not an aggrieved party himself. In his application, the petitioner said that FIR is not being lodged despite implementation of sessions court’s Aug 16 orders in which it directed framing of murder charges against Sharif brothers and 19 others over the June violence which took place near residence of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, Dr. Tahirul Qadri, leaving at least 14 of his supporters dead.
