The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf staged a sit-in here at Shikrani Chowk for second consecutive day under the leadership of its Tehsil President Abdul Basit Shikrani and District Vice President Munir Malik.

A large number of PTI activists were attending the sit-in. They chanted slogans against Premier Nawaz Sharif and demanded him to step down immediately by accepting the demands of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Local PTI leaders including Abdul Basit Shikrani, Munir Malik,Sajid Siraj Jalwana, Saleh Mohammad, Mian Hassan, Chaudhry Tariq Iqbal, Dr Abdul Hadi Shikrani, Iqbal Danish, Waheed Bukhari and others in their speeches said that after the revelations regarding rigging in May 2013 general elections by former Additional Secretary Election Commission Afzal Khan on a private TV Channel, there was no need for any inquiry. So Premier Nawaz Sharif should tender his resignation immediately and national government be formed for election reforms and new elections. They severely criticized Sharifs and said that both brothers were ruling centre and Punjab as their limited company. The PTI leaders also demanded Sharifs to bring back their billions of dollars from foreign banks and tell the nation how much taxes they paid and how they increased their wealth after assuming the power in Punjab during late Gen Zialul Haq regime.

Meanwhile another group of PTI activists headed by Majid Qureshi left for Islamabad to participate in main PTI sit-in in front of Parliament House.

In Bahawalpur, the PTI workers and supporters continued their protest and sit-in for fourth consecutive day on Monday. They chanted slogans in favour of their demands including the resignation of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif. They express complete solidarity with the PTI leadership and workers all over the country, especially the participants of the sit-in in Islamabad.

In Hafizabad, the activists of PTI, PAT and Majlis Wahadatul Muslimeen jointly staged a sit-in at Vanike Chowk Monday evening to press for the acceptance of the demands put forward by their leaders during sit-in in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad.

When contacted PTI District President Ch Amanullah Sandhu said that he had returned from Islamabad on the directives of PTI Chief Imran Khan to stage sit-in in district. He further said that the sit-in in Hafizabad would continue till the acceptance of the demands.

Ch Aman Ullah Sandhu, Ch Qasim Tarar and others addressed the gathering.

Heavy police contingent remained present at Vanike Chowk to prevent any unpleasant incident.
