BAHAWALPUR

The Punjab government has allocated a grant of Rs3 billion for the construction of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, which will start functioning from January !, 2016.

The university will be constructed in Chak 11/BC Bahawalpur with the technical assistance of Ankara University and Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Dean Dr Rifki Haziroglu will supervise construction of the university besides providing other relevant support.

This was disclosed by Punjab Cooperatives Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar during a meeting here with IUB Vice-Chancellor Dr Saleem Tariq Khan the other day.

On the occasion, the VC appreciated the decision and assured support in every field to make the Cholistan Veterinary University a well-reputed and organized institution for the uplift of the area.

University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore Vice-Chancellor Dr Tallat Naseer Pasha, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Ankara University Dean Dr Rifki Haziroglu, Bahawalpur Commissioner Capt (r) Javed Akbar Khan, RPO Muhammad Tahir Raiy, Faculty of Science and Education Dean Dr Asghar Hashmi, Faculty of Arts Dean Dr Mamona Ghani, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Dr Mehmood Ahmed, Hall Council Chairman Dr Javed Hussan Chandio, IUB Veterinary College Principal Dr Rao Zahid Abbas, Quality Enhancement Cell Director Saeed Ahmed Buzdar, BCCI President Amir Yousaf Ali Khan and Shamim Group of Industries Director Rana Tariq attended the meeting.
