BAJAUR AGENCY - The elders of Utman Khail tribe of Bajaur Agency have assured the administration of their support in maintaining peace and thwarting militant activities in the area.

The elders announced to expedite their anti militants activities in the region and said that they are united and fully alert to block militancy in their area.

The announcement was made by the elders of various areas of Arang area of Utman Khial tehisl during a Jirga with Bajaur Agency Assistant Political Agent Sohil Ahemd Khan here in his office.

Several issues including law and order situation and investigation in to the roadside bomb blast took place in Arang area that killed two senior tribal elders among three and wounded two others were discussed in the jirga.

Participants of the jirga expressed concern over the roadside blast in Arang area, the most peaceful localities of the agency.

They also expressed sympathies with the family members of Malik Dawa Khan and Malik Gul Kareem Khan who were died in the blast on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the assistant political agent said the administration was committed to maintain peace and writ of the government in the agency, as peace is vital for sustainable development of the region. The assistant political agent asked the elders to end their personnel clashes and take concrete efforts to ensure peace in their area. He said that miscreants are trying to sabotage the peace and writ of the government in the most peaceful area of Arang. He said that joint efforts and unity are the best way to defeat the militants and foiled their nefarious mission in the region.

During the meeting, the officials briefed the participants about the investigation in to the roadside bomb blast in the hilly area of Arang.

They officials said that investigation has been expedited following the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkahwa governor and senior officials of FATA Secretariat to expose the culprit behind the incident in the peaceful area.
